Most of the people know about Ravindra Nath Tagore. He had minuscule amount of formal education but despite it when he got Nobel prize for his creation Gitanjali whole country was dumbfounded. Sachin Tendulkar failed in 12 th class, but whole world know him today and pay respect that everyone aspire to have. Today he has all material comfort and prestige that most of us want to have.
AR Rehman never ever had a good regular schooling but in the music world everyone knows him very well and after winning Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire he has brought laurels to India. Today he is known celebrity and counted among talented musicians. One more example not less significant than all the above examples is our cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Today he is youth icon. He has been most successful captain- wicket keeper- batsman in Indian cricket history. Recently he has taken admission in graduation in St. Xavier's college Ranchi. Further Major Dhyanchand popularly known as magician of hockey could have education at sixth standard.
Think for a while if Sachin had worried much about the marks in the exams of the school then he would never have become the star of the cricket. Mahendra Singh Dhoni would never have been a youth icon as well as star captain if he had concerned abount the exams and studies. Similarly for all the masters of their respective fields cited above they would never have been so successful had they focussed on other areas they are not interested in.
Education is essential for life but success in life depends not only on education but on passion. Passing exams with good marks does not guarantee to success. But most of the people think that this is the sole criteria for measuring talent and ensuring successful life. Running after marks only brings tension and diffidence. This is a vicious cycle the more you worry about the marks the more tension and degradation of mental energy you have.Being successful in life requires knowledge, passion, will power and intelligence, marks or grades are insignificant.
Looking at the history of successful people we can find large no of them who had no formal education or few of them were in so miserable condition that they had to work for the livelihood in their childhood so there was no question of formal education despite they were so successful no one could ever have imagined.
For example great writer HG Wells had not completed his schooling. Wright brothers were unfortunate to have school education but they invented the first aeroplane. Thomas Alwa
Edison was considered to be a dumb student by his teachers.
He never had a good impression in the class and once his teacher claimed him to be stupid and told his parents that he would never learn anything good in his life. After that he went to school only three months because his mother did not want him to continue the school. Today every one study in the light of electric bulb he invented. Gyani Jail Singh one of the presidents of India also had little formal education.
World's one the richest men Bill Gates founder of Microsoft company is college dropout. Dhiru Bhai Ambani Founder of Reliance industry a conglomerate had no schooling. Azim Premji of Wipro is also a college drop out. Further last example but not least significant is Henry Ford was not interested in school education and so he started taking interest in machine more than the rote learning in school. After so many ups and downs he finally emerged as car king.
